Brad Stevens Press Conference: Celtics President Addresses Jaylen Brown Trade

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens held a press conference on Monday, directly addressing the swirling speculation around star guard Jaylen Brown. With trade rumors intensifying in recent weeks, Stevens took the opportunity to clarify the team's stance and offer insight into their long-term vision.

Stevens began by dismissing the notion that the Celtics are actively shopping Brown, calling the reports "overblown" and emphasizing the franchise's commitment to its core players. "Jaylen is a huge part of what we are building," Stevens said. "We have a lot of respect for him as a player and as a person. Any talk of us looking to move him right now is just noise." He acknowledged that the team is always evaluating ways to improve, but stressed that trading a player of Brown's caliber is not a priority.

The president also touched on the team's recent struggles and the need for consistency. He pointed to injuries and a tough schedule as factors, but stopped short of making excuses. "We have to be better, plain and simple," Stevens added. "That starts with me and the front office, and it goes through the coaching staff and the players."

When pressed about potential roster moves before the trade deadline, Stevens remained vague but open. "We are always looking at ways to get better," he said. "But we are not going to make a move just to make a move. It has to be the right fit for this group." He declined to comment on specific players or trade scenarios.

Stevens closed by reaffirming his belief in the team's direction. "We have a talented group, and I believe in them," he said. "We just need to put it all together."
