The Denver Broncos made a roster move on Tuesday, releasing offensive tackle Foster Sarell, as first reported by Mike Klis of 9News. The team officially waived the 26-year-old lineman, opening up a spot on the 90-man roster as training camp approaches.
Sarell joined the Broncos in 2023 after spending time with the Los Angeles Chargers, who originally signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in 2020. During his tenure in Denver, he appeared in 15 games, mostly as a reserve and on special teams. He saw his most significant action in 2024, logging 98 offensive snaps across several games while filling in at both tackle spots due to injuries along the line.
The move comes as the Broncos look to solidify their offensive line depth heading into the summer. Denver has been active in reshaping the unit, bringing in veteran competition and drafting younger prospects. With Sarell out of the picture, the team will rely on a mix of returning players and new faces to battle for backup roles behind starters Garett Bolles and Mike McGlinchey.
Sarell will now go through waivers, and if he clears, he will become a free agent eligible to sign with any team. Given his size and experience, he could draw interest from clubs needing tackle depth. The Broncos, meanwhile, continue to fine-tune their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
