'Fill that gap': Large indoor/outdoor sports pavilion proposed along State St.

'Fill that gap': Large indoor/outdoor sports pavilion proposed along State St.

A new multi-purpose sports facility could soon break ground along State Street in Eagle, offering residents a year-round venue for athletics and community events. PSP Holdings has submitted plans for the Premier Sports Pavilion, a large indoor-outdoor complex slated for a 6.3-acre parcel near the intersection with Horseshoe Bend Road, just east of the St. Luke's Eagle Medical Plaza.

The project is designed to address a growing need for recreational space in the region. According to the developer, the pavilion will feature a full-size indoor turf field suitable for soccer, lacrosse, and other field sports, alongside outdoor courts and practice areas. The indoor component is intended to provide a climate-controlled option for leagues and clinics during the winter months, while the outdoor spaces will be available for warmer-weather programming.

"PSP has identified a market in the rapidly growing communities of Eagle and the surrounding Treasure Valley," a representative said in the proposal. The developer emphasized that the facility would serve both youth and adult leagues, with a focus on filling a gap in local sports infrastructure that currently forces many families to travel to Meridian or Boise for tournaments and practices.

The site plan includes a parking area with over 100 spaces, as well as a small concession and lobby space. The project will require a conditional use permit from the city, as the property is currently zoned for commercial use. The Eagle Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to review the application at a public hearing in the coming weeks. If approved, construction could begin as early as next spring, with an estimated completion timeline of nine to twelve months.
