Patriots Edge Bills in Narrow Divisional Victory

October 4, 2026 - 23:08

The New England Patriots walked away with a hard fought win against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, surviving a late push from their division rivals to secure the victory. The game stayed close from the opening drive, with neither team able to build a comfortable lead at any point.

New England leaned on its ground game to control the clock, chipping away with steady runs that kept the Bills offense off the field. The defense held firm when it mattered most, forcing a key stop in the final minutes to seal the result. Buffalo moved the ball well at times but stalled in the red zone, settling for field goals instead of touchdowns.

The Patriots quarterback managed the game efficiently, avoiding turnovers and connecting on several important third down throws. Receivers made contested catches to extend drives, while the offensive line held up against a strong Buffalo pass rush. Special teams also contributed, pinning the Bills deep in their own territory late in the fourth quarter.

The win tightens the race in the division and gives New England momentum heading into the next stretch of the schedule. Buffalo will look to bounce back quickly, while the Patriots can build on a performance that showed toughness on both sides of the ball.
