With NIL deals and the transfer portal now acting as the engine for college football's version of free agency, there is finally enough history to look back and identify the most impactful players who have brought their talents to Oxford. For this exercise, we are building an 11-man offense, with a separate defense to follow.
The quarterback spot is an easy call. Jaxson Dart arrived from USC and immediately became the face of the program, rewriting the record books and providing the kind of leadership that turns a good roster into a contender. Behind him, the running back room is stacked. Quinshon Judkins, though he has since moved on, was a portal gem who ran for over 1,500 yards as a true freshman. Pair him with Zach Evans, a former five-star who transferred in from TCU and provided a powerful one-two punch.
At wide receiver, the Rebels have been a transfer haven. Elijah Moore set the standard, turning short passes into explosive plays after coming from the junior college ranks. Dontario Drummond was a steady veteran presence, while Malik Heath brought physicality from Mississippi State. Tight end is a bit thinner, but Caden Prieskorn proved his worth in the 2023 season, hauling in crucial touchdowns in big games.
The offensive line has been rebuilt through the portal multiple times. Left tackle is held down by Jeremy James, a steady anchor. Nick Broeker, who started his career as a guard before moving to tackle, is a versatile piece. At the interior, Caleb Warren and Eli Acker provide the push needed for the run game. This group, assembled from various stops, has consistently given Ole Miss one of the most explosive offenses in the SEC. The formula is clear: find talent in the portal, plug them in, and let them play.
