Vikings, Chargers Floated in Realistic Justin Herbert Trade Idea

The Minnesota Vikings have no long term answer at quarterback locked up past this season. That uncertainty has sparked speculation about whether the franchise could pursue a blockbuster move for a proven starter.

After trading J.J. McCarthy to the New York Giants, the Vikings are left with Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz, both playing on one year contracts. New general manager Nolan Teasley has no ties to either player. If neither performs well, the position could be wide open again next offseason.

That reality has led to a realistic trade idea involving Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. While the Chargers have shown no interest in moving him, the Vikings have the cap space and draft capital to make a compelling offer if Los Angeles ever reconsidered its future.

Herbert remains one of the league's top young passers. A trade would reshape the NFC North and give Minnesota a long term solution under center. For now, the idea remains speculation, but the Vikings' quarterback situation makes it worth monitoring as the season unfolds.
