Tristan Peters stayed scorching hot at the plate, launching his fourth home run in four games, as the Chicago White Sox outlasted the Texas Rangers in an 11-7 slugfest on the South Side. The win snapped a brief losing skid and gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about in a game that featured plenty of offense from both dugouts.
Peters got the scoring started in the first inning with a two-run shot to right field, setting the tone for a night where the bats never really went quiet. The Rangers answered back quickly, tying the game in the second on a bases-clearing double, but Chicago responded right away with a three-run third inning to take control for good.
The bullpen made things interesting late, allowing a couple of solo homers in the seventh and eighth, but the White Sox added insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth to put the game out of reach. The win was a team effort, with six different players driving in runs and the lineup showing patience at the plate, drawing seven walks total.
Chicago will look to keep the momentum going tomorrow afternoon in the series finale, with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 PM.
