The NBA draft lottery has reshaped the future for one of college basketball's top prospects. Former Duke standout Cameron Boozer is now widely expected to land with the Utah Jazz, following the franchise's successful leap to the second overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. The lottery results, announced Tuesday night, positioned the Jazz as the clear frontrunner to select the versatile forward, who many scouts consider the most complete player in the class.
Boozer, a two-time ACC Player of the Year, averaged 21.4 points and 11.2 rebounds during his sophomore season with the Blue Devils. His combination of size, basketball IQ, and a polished mid-range game makes him an ideal building block for a young Utah roster. While the Jazz also hold the ninth pick, the second selection gives them a chance to add a potential franchise cornerstone.
The only remaining question is whether Utah will keep the pick or entertain trade offers. However, with Boozer's ties to the state--his father, Carlos Boozer, played for the Jazz from 2004 to 2010--the narrative feels almost scripted. For now, all signs point to Salt Lake City as Cameron Boozer's next home.
