Are De Zerbi's Spurs finding elusive consistency?

Tottenham's latest Premier League victory has raised a familiar question with a new answer: are they finally becoming the consistent side their supporters have waited for? A third successive league win suggests something is shifting under Roberto De Zerbi, though the test now is whether it holds.

For much of the season Spurs have mixed bright attacking spells with costly lapses, the pattern that has defined them for years. Winning runs have tended to collapse quickly, often against modest opposition. This time the run has come with a little more control, and the manager has been keen to stress that the results matter more than the performance level while his ideas take root.

De Zerbi has spoken about building habits rather than chasing moments, and the players appear to be responding. The pressing looks more coordinated, the passing out from the back less reckless, and the squad has coped with rotation without the drop in quality that once seemed inevitable.

Nobody at the club is getting carried away. A third win is a platform, not a proof, and the coming fixtures will ask harder questions. But for the first time in a while, Spurs look like a team that knows what it is doing from week to week, and that alone marks real progress.
